Choosing the right HDTV is not an easy task, especially with many models to choose from. One way of narrowing down your choices, though, is by selecting a brand then comparing two of the best models of that brand, like the Panasonic TC-P50G10 and the Panasonic TC-P50S1.

Both the Panasonic TC-P50G10 and the TC-P50S1 have sleek, glossy brack frames with a distinguishing silver strip at the bottom and hidden speakers which have become the new design standard for HDTVs. The frame of the TC-P50G10 is thinner, though, and is in fact, one of the thinnest ever manufactured by Panasonic. Aside from this, the TC-P50G10 has a silver wash on the frame to add to the silver strip and comes with a round black non-swiveling stand while the frame of the TC-P50S1 has more rounded edges. The latter comes with a rectangular stand like the previous models.

Both the TC-P50G10 and the TC-P50G10 also deliver the great image quality expected of an HDTV, with superbly deep black levels, saturated colors and excellent shadow detail. The images on the TC-P50G10, however, come closer to cinema quality, particularly in the THX mode. This new mode recreates movie images faithfully and better simulates the movie theatre experience. It also results in more accurate primary colors - something that the TC-P50S1 has a problem with at times.

Connectivity is a deciding factor when choosing an HDTV. After all, it is important to get an HDTV that is compatible with your existing devices. This is something you won’t have to worry about if you get the TC-P50S1, which has an SD card slot and three HDMI inputs where you can plug in your DVD player, Blu-Ray player and game console. If you have a computer, though, you might want to go with the TC-P50G10, which has a VGA input and a LAN port for the Viera Cast feature in addition to the connectivity options that the TC-P50S1 offers.

As for features, the Panasonic TC-P50G10 and the Panasonic TC-P50S1 each have their share of great ones. Both come with the Viera Link, one of the newest features made by Panasonic, which allows you to control your DVD recorder, Blu-ray player, surround sound speakers and other compatible devices remotely, sparing you the inconvenience of getting around and turning them all on and off one by one. Both models also have a game mode for gamers, an anti-reflective filter to prevent you from getting distracted when watching and a pixel orbiter to prevent screen burn-in.

One feature which sets the TC-P50G10 apart from the TC-P50S1 and previous HDTV models, though, is the Viera Cast mentioned earlier. This feature allows you to enjoy online content such as YouTube videos, Picasa web albums and Amazon Video on Demand, and other important information such as the latest stock market trends and weather reports, on a user-friendly web interface built into your HDTV. This means that you don’t need to have a computer to access all these. However, you will need an active internet connection and an ethernet line.

It is also worth noting that the TC-P50G10 and the TC-P50S1 are more energy efficient than most Plasma televisions, although they are still far behind their LCD counterparts in this area. Both come with a NEO PDP panel while the TC-P50S1 comes with an Energy Star 3.0 rating - something it owes to the low light output of its default picture setting. The TC-P50G10 has an ECO menu which allows you to turn off certain functions automatically, as well.

Indeed, both the Panasonic TC-P50G10 and the Panasonic TC-P50S1 are excellent choices with a number of similarities. They both even have price tags that are not that different from each other. Still, the Panasonic TC-P50G10 clearly has a few more perks, which makes it worth the few extra hundreds and clearly one of the best HDTVs released by Panasonic so far.

The Sony Bravia KDL-65W5100 may not have generated much fanfare, but it definitely has many great features, particularly its interactive features, which, along with its semi-affordable price, set it apart from and above other models in its size range.

The Sony Bravia KDL-65W5100 starts off its interactivity suite with the usual Yahoo widgets, namely Yahoo News, Yahoo Weather and Yahoo Finance. Yahoo News displays the latest headlines of top news stories from different categories like Entertainment and Politics, along with the first two lines of the news. Yahoo Weather keeps you posted on the current weather in your area and other parts of the world, and even gives you a five-day forecast. And Yahoo Finance is a handy widget for those who want to keep tabs on the stock market and their own stock portfolios. All these take a few minutes to load, especially the Weather and Finance, but it is pretty reasonable compared to having to check the info on your computer. Unlike with most models, these widgets can be displayed anywhere on the screen of your KDL-65W5100 so you don’t have to live with them being stuck at the bottom where they might not look best.

The KDL-65W5100 also has a Twitter widget, which displays the most recent tweets, either from your own account or an account you follow, and is even updated real-time. You can even post your own tweet, although you will have to use the directional keys on the remote to navigate through the virtual keyboard, which can be quite frustrating.

Aside from these widgets, the KDL-65W5100 is also capable of video streaming, which means that unlike the case with other models, you don’t need to buy the Bravia Internet Video Link to watch your favorite videos from the internet on your HDTV screen. For example, you can watch HD content from Amazon Video on Demand, which only takes a few minutes to load.

Other channels or providers available include YouTube, Sports Illustrated On Demand, CBS, The Minisode Network, Blip.tv, FEARnet, Style.com, among others, although the videos they have available are not as clear as those on Amazon’s. Not to worry, you will have more choices once Netflix becomes available, which Sony promises it will.

You can also access the video content stored on the other computers in your home network, since the KDL-65W5100 has enhanced DLNA capability. You can access the music files you’ve downloaded on them, too, in addition to the music you can listen to from your favorite Internet Radio stations.

Finally, the KDL-65W5100 also has an interactive program guide, which means its list of television programs is regularly updated via your Internet connection for free, so you don’t miss out on your favorite shows and movies on TV.

These interactive features truly make the Sony Bravia KDL-65W5100 stand out from the rest of the HDTV models around, and with its great picture quality, energy-saving options and various picture presets, it certainly is an HDTV to consider if you want a large one for your spacious living room but don’t want to spend too much. Connectivity is not a problem either. As with most Sony Bravia models, the connectivity suite of the KDL-65W5100 offers four HDMI inputs - although for a change, you will find most of them at the side, together with the PC input and USB slot, and only one at the rear.

Are you looking to buy the best LCD HDTV under $500? The best choice to make is the LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV. When I am shopping for electronics, it’s not always about the price. Yes, I want a deal. Who doesn’t? I can remember scoring a great deal on Sony years ago. While it was a good television then, fast forward a few years and I found out that even the dump would not take it! It was good money spent on an inferior product.

The 32LH30 32-Inch is one of the hottest selling items in electronics today. The main reason is constant developments in technology brings the viewing audience to a world of high definition by watching 32LH30 HDTV. When you watch fast action games like basketball, you almost feel like grabbing the ball from the TV because it looks so real. I kid my wife sometimes and ask her if she can smell the digital chocolate cake baking on the Food Network Channel. Hey, that may be reality some day, so don’t laugh! HDTV is the gold standard for television. With prices at record lows, there is no reason to suffer with your old analog that even the local thrift store will not take.

If you are an online junkie, you can even watch YouTube using the HD option. There are instances that the HD option won’t work well because the video was not filmed using HD. The LG 32LH30 is really the clear choice for sophisticated buyers looking for the best HDTV available for under the $500 price tag.

All other TV options are being phased out with the fast developing technology we have. Visual media developments are geared towards making only HD films. With an 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, you can get to really enjoy TV viewing at its finest.

There are some people that understand how the increase in pixel count makes for better viewing. A typical home viewer (like me) doesn’t know or care to know what pixels are. The sophisticated consumer demands the sharpest viewing picture. Period. Pixels smixels! The main difference when you watch through an 32LH30 is that you will get clearer and sharper images. With every single detail shown, it will surely heighten your viewing pleasure. Owning the LG32LH30 LCD HDTV is an excellent investment for your present and future TV viewing.

Presently, numerous programs available in HD. Realistically, there will be less and less analog content available as HD becomes the standard. In a few years, all content providers will broadcast in HD. Where I live in the Bay Area, HD content has been available for years.

I can remember when everyone was talking about the day that HD would be here and your old set would be out dated. That day has come and gone. Many of you are still watching on your old analog set and are not reaping the benefits of watching in true HD. Because of financially difficult times, many people are holding off on buying a new big screen HD TV. That is why I recommend the 32LH30 as a viable economic option. For less than $500, you are getting big screen quality at analog price! Once you sit in front of this HDTV, you will feel like you are in the cinema house watching the latest flick. The noticeable difference is that you will have a clean bathroom, unlimited inexpensive food, and a very low price tag!

The 32LH30 should be the TV that you will be watching for at least the next 5 years. This is the best HDTV to purchase if you are thinking about economizing. Rather than sinking a few thousand dollars on a “super size” TV, purchase the reasonable sized LG 32LH30. It’s large enough for most of us and small enough to fit our budgets.

You may fall into the temptation of saying that “I deserve at least the high quality 52 inch TV”. With the 32LH30, you will own the highest quality visual entertainment available at a reasonable price point. Don’t lower your standards. Be wise and lower your budget. Getting your money’s worth is what buying a 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV is about.

There is a huge discount waiting for you. You can buy it on Amazon and even get free shipping, no sales taxes and liberal return policy. Big savings over $100!
